(1) The Hornets coach Byron Scott was named the NBA coach of the year.
(2) Dominic Rhodes was cut by the Raiders.
(3) The Bobcats named Larry Brown as their head coach.
(4) Kevin Durant was named the NBA rookie of the Year.
(5) San Francisco Giant minor leaguer Eliezer Alfonzo was suspended for 50 days after testing positive from a performance enhancing drug.
(6) The Mariners called up Wladimir Balentien and Jeff Clement. To make room for them on the roster, Seattle cut Greg Norton and Brad Wilkerson.
It’s upsetting to see Greg Norton go, especially with Miguel Cairo still on the club, but I’m just happy Clement and Baleltien are up.
(7) The Mavericks fired Avery Johnson.
