New rules in place for gambling in basketball?

David Stern announced new gambling rules.

It turns out all 56 of the NBA’s ref’s has gambled in someway and more then half of them admitted to placing bets at a casino. Stern decides not to punish any of them because he finds the rules to be outdated.

This is a very bad choice. Stern should have kept the rules in check and at least fined them. If he would have fired them, it would have been a bad idea because while there are referees in high school, college sports, and minor leagues who would love the opportunity to officiate an NBA season, the idea of firing them all would have been overboard. Stern should have given them a warning and just fined them.

David Stern regulated a more conservative dress code for the players, yet changes the rules because majority of the refs do not follow a rule like gambling. The rules should stay the same. If a referee does not like it, then get a new job where the boss does not care if you gamble or not.
